As a Grade 8 student, social media has become a great deal in my life. I would usually say that it is great for entertaining myself, being a benefit, but then again, I'm becoming more irresponsible because of it. Like what I am doing now, I'm submitting a few hours before the deadline, don't you think it tells so much about me? Social media is only a benefit when it comes to communication, entertainment, and news. You get to talk to your family and friends, see what's going on around the world, and basically, videos, tweets, and other things that could make you laugh are just a click away for your entertainment. But so are distractions. Lately, have you noticed how your grades have dropped? How you're more active online than at home that you're ignoring your parents? Or how late you've been sleeping because of talking to your friends about random things? Social media are distracting us from the more important things in our life. It's the reason why we get hurt. Which brings me to cyber-bullying. Who would've thought bullying could go to a different level? A level in which students are becoming too insecure (afraid of being judged.), are going into depression at such a young age, and some being forced to shut the world out being afraid too express themselves in fear of being different. Throughout the years, I've learned how to always be sensitive about others' feelings. I've become more careful on what I post and what I say online for i know that i can hurt someone.
As a daughter, a friend, and a student, social media causes me to ignore my parents, to cram my homeworks (resulting a bad grade), and to hurt my best friends' feelings without me even knowing it. I completely regret doing so. If I did not have any social media accounts, I would say the world have changed so much. I've noticed the way how people talk now, they've used too many abbreviations that would just confuse people. They have changed the way the act, some completely changing who they are just to be in line with the trends. And some have even become snobs, they have become oblivious to what has been going on around them. I couldn't believe other's would care more about getting a good wifi connection than being sensitive to their friend's feelings. I would be scared to make an account if I knew I would be failing and be risking myself not to graduate if I get too distracted. I could honestly say I would trade emails for handwritten letters in a heartbeat just to feel the sincerity. Social media, in a way, tests people's responsibility and attitude. Testing how far they'd go, how much they can tolerate it, and/or praise it.

As a Grade 8 student, social media has advantages and disadvantages in my life. The advantages of social media in my life are communications to my family and friends, doing researches for home works, being aware on what is happening, and for entertainment. Social media also has disadvantages in my life, like being a distraction every time I study my tests, home works, and other else. Social media makes me more socially sensitive and teaches me how to be responsible when using the internet. It made me aware on what I posts, what I share on the internet, and on what websites I can only open and that is appropriate for my age.
It affects me as a daughter, because we would still keep in touch when she is away and needs to go on a business/job trip. It affects me as a friend, because me and my other friends won't get to meet each other and lost our communication and by social media, we still get to talk to each other.Lastly, it affects me as a student, because I often get tempted to use social media even though I need to sleep early and I sometimes spend my time using social media rather than studying.

As a grade 8 student, social media benefits me in different ways. It helps me to communicate with my friends, families and other people too. It also helps me to know what’s going on especially when I’m absent. It helps me to do my projects, home works and others too. It makes my life easier because I can do what I want but I also think of the limits. Social media, on the other hand, also harms people. It can distract kids from studying. It can also harm people because they might see things that are inappropriate and not suitable for their age. It can distract people because of the games in the internet like DOTA, it can make people addicted to it and instead of studying, they’re playing that. And that’s not a good habbit.
As a daughter, a friend and a student, social media affects me badly because sometimes, I forgot to do my homework because of it. It makes me cram my homework. But now, I learned from it already. I'm changing my attitude from now on.

Having social media affects my life by distraction. Sometimes, a lot of notifications pop out in my phone during weekdays, and it is a major distraction for my studies during weekdays. It benefits me more than it harms me because it is easier for me to communicate with classmates and its very helpful especially when there are group works need to be done or just home works. Social media teaches me more to be responsible socially because sometimes, when i forget to ask something to the teacher about things in school, i tend to ask it through social media, so it teaches me to be more responsible and to be less forgetful. My social media presence affects me as a daughter like its easier for me to connect and communicate with me mom since she is working far away. As a friend, it affects me by keeping in touch with them like i can still talk to them and keep close through social media. Lastly, my social media presence affects me as a student like sometimes i spend more time on social media than studying during weekends, so i kinda need to lessen the use of social media and more into studying. Great job in informing others. This is a superb one!

Social media can both benefit and harm me. Social media can benefit me by communication all around the world and some help from my classmates when I don't get the topic. It can harm me by the spamming or hacking of my own account. When you have a social media account your account can be deleted or it will stay there forever. Social media teaches me on how to be responsible for any and all of my posts on social media. On social media you have to monitor on what you do and say on the internet no matter what age rank you are. Social media can be a big help, but also it can harm you in ways we can't explain.

As a grade 8 student of Miriam College, social media has pros and cons, it's pros is that it can help you to communicate with any family member or friend easily just by messaging them directly, you can chat them easier and can respond almost instantly, unlike using handwritten letters. Social Media can provide you faster update, feedback about the latest news locally and internationally. It can help you with your homework and projects, specially when you need to research something. And I can use social media for fun, like playing games suitable for my age. But everything has its cons which, like in games, which temp you for playing five minutes and end up for consuming your whole afternoon. Sometimes our personal data is not safe on social networking sites. Unknown people or strangers can easily view your account. Social Media can be a distraction to us students. For example, when you study you always check your phone for any notification from your friends or family members. Sometimes we even forget that we need to study for the upcoming test/s for the next day. It distracts us from our responsibilities to review. Having social media accounts needs you to be very responsible, because sometimes we click the sites that is not suitable for our age, and we even download sites that is recommended in the internet that causes your gadget to have a problem/virus.
When using your social media accounts always remember to think before you click. You also need to be very careful when you put your personal information, when you post something or when you are chatting someone, do not turn your location on or don't post a photo you are currently at. We need to be cautious and extra careful with the sites we use/open.

As a grade 8 student, having social media accounts affect my life by being updated to all the things happening, visiting different social networking sites during my spare time, enjoying games, and I get to interact with people more. Having these accounts benefit me more because when I forget something like, for example a question in the homework, I can ask for it from my classmates. Social media teaches me to be more responsible. My social media experience affect me as a daughter by thinking before doing something improper in the internet because people might think that my parents raised me up like that. It affects me as a friend by respecting my friend or anyone’s opinion. While it affects me being a student by knowing my limitations. If I don’t have these accounts, some observations that I see from my family and friends are they spend more time in visiting these sites than doing their homeworks or sharing family time. I would love to create one in the future.

Well in my case. I'm a grade 8 student even though I have
a social media account but I personally think that it is not
beneficial for us, because there are many things that might
get out of our way like our school work, family problems
and many more private information since we are a bit
juvenile we might put something that isn't needed there.
